Elephants are deeply intelligent creatures.

They can distinguish human gender, ethnicity and age simply by the sound of voice, use tools to achieve their goals and even mourn their dead. Tragically, environmental factors, abandonment, abuse and brutal training methods are threatening the very existence of elephants across the world.

You may have seen videos of people riding these intelligent creatures, watched a live elephant act in a movie or even experienced an elephant performing tricks at a circus live. These scenes may appear cute, but the dark reality is that appalling abuse is fundamental in training elephants for “entertainment.”

From bullhooks and whippings to electric shocks and “crush boxes” designed to literally break elephants’ spirits so that they can be tamed for commercial use, these majestic creatures are being abused in the name of “entertainment.” They are torn away from their mothers and families at a young age, and many develop arthritis, foot infections, and other health problems with insufficient treatment and care.

In addition to these threats, elephants also face the tragic reality of disappearing ecosystems as climate change continues to threaten their native environments.

The Elephant Project is dedicated to helping save these elephants and educating children around the world about the dangers these creatures face. 100% of our organization’s net proceeds go to various organizations that help aid in fighting the poaching crisis and also provide care to injured, abandoned, orphaned, and abused elephants worldwide, including The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya and Elephant Nature Park in Thailand.

Please contribute to our mission by purchasing Kiki and Tembo today, or donating directly to save elephants and help ensure their welfare.

...And remember – Don’t F***ing Ride Elephants!
